God, I haven't blogged in a while. It's not that I don't want to blog, it's just, oddly enough, I can never seem to find the time. It's like there's so many things I want to do - pull out that dusty WiiFit from behind the TV table and lose some weight, fix my iPod music information and cover art, start watching the Big Bang Theory, bake some cookies - but even though I tell myself, I'll do this now, I'll do this today, I never do!
It's not that surprising on weekdays, really, what with school and all, but on weekends and free days and school breaks, God, does time fly. I have this great schedule in my head - at ten I'll watch Breakfast at Tiiffany's, at one I'll finish editing the next chapter of my fanfiction, at three I'll try out that manga that Jess was suggesting - and at six in the evening, I stare at Sims 3 on my computer monitor in horror. (I'm not blaming Sims 3 for my poor time management and procrastination, though. It's a fantastic way to waste time).
I miss summer.
And this is probably a horrible example of me, but I've got a Bio long test tomorrow, and I stil have about four pages of notes to swim through, and here I am, blogging on my sadly empty Livejournal. But I've never been particularly interested in science, to be honest. I just can't wrap my head around these strange concepts of plasmids and ribosomes and centrioles and what-have-you. I mean, what do they do? Sure, there's protein synthesis and lipid modification and substance storage and all that, but it's all vague and fuzzy. My Bio teacher is awesome, don't get me wrong. I'm the one with the problem. I really don't understand cells. I know the facts and stuff, but if anyone ever asked me to explain the concept as a whole, I'd be at a loss for words.
History I can understand better, for some strange reason. I adore history. Right now, we're studying Asian history and culture, and it's all terribly fascinating. Sure, I have to memorise a lot of crap, but a lot of it is pretty cool. I can deal with the whole Amaterasu-coming-out-from-her-dad's-eye thing better than protein pumps and osmosis. My friends tell me it's the opposite for them - it's much easier to study for Bio than for History.
Heh. Makes me wonder how I got placed in advanced science.
Off to trudge through four pages of notes about cell membrane function.
